Cumberland County, TN

Ozone Falls

These falls are so cool and only a little under an hour west from Knoxville. It's not even a half mile roundtrip hike and you can walk all the way around and even under these falls.  This one is definitely a little bit of a climb though and you have to navigate rocks and stone steps to get to the bottom.
Cool facts - the water just pools at the bottom of the falls and drains into a cave - there is no creek that runs from it.  It's the third tallest waterfall in Tennessee.
A word of caution - if you follow the trail straight from the parking area, it will lead you to the creek at the top of the falls.  It's a beautiful area and a great place to play in the creek, but it is also the top of these falls and there is no barrier at the edge of the rocks.
